Hello.....
I would greatly appreciate any input on the following: patient comes to ED with contaminated stab wound to abdominal wall. After local anesthesia wound was explored and found to be 1.5cm x 5cm deep. The base was bluntly dissected to the skin and through a small punch hole a plastic catheter was inserted in the base of wound. Wound irrigated with 500 ml NS and packed with 30 inches of iodoform gauze......
Would this be coded as 20102?? or considered I&D but its not abscess.
