Does a code exist to identify the service provided by an interventional cardiologist for interpreting and reporting on a heart cath image? Our doctor, (interventional cardiologist), will be asked at times to do this by the cardiologist performing the heart cath; he does the viewing of the images via his office computer linked to the hospital. Our doctor feels he needs to capture this but we are falling short in selecting a proper code (if one exists and if the service is billable). Thanks.

This might be considered a "consult" (not my area of expertise). You may try reading through the E/M section of this blog for a better response.

I do not think a code from the 7000 series is applicable.
