I looking for some help with a dx code. The patient took an overdose of Tylenol but denies it was a suicide attempt. Says she was just "emotionally overwhelmed ". She was treated, stabilized and transferred out to another facility. The diagnosis is "Overdose, intentional with Tylenol". Would it be correct to use 950.0 (Suicide and self-inflicted poisoning.") because she specifically said it wasn't a suicide attempt and the M.D. didn't diagnosis it as such. The only other choice that would work is the unspecified whether accidental or intentional. Thanks in advance for any help.

Based on the information you've provided, the correct codes should be 965.4 and if you're required to report E codes, E980.0
