When a physician performs a swab for a influenza and a RSV test, is this billable. We sent the swabs to the lab for results.

If you are not doing the rapid tests in your office then you can only code for obtaining/conveying the specimen 99000.

I think you can bill for office visit and swab collection like 65200 and lab will bill for specimen that they test like 87420.

You can code the E/M of course, but as for the tests - only collection and conveyance to the lab if not done in-house.

You can cannot code labratory services unless you perform and interpret them.
