I am unable to located a diagnosis for this CPT. I do not have a referring physician diagnosis. What ICD10 would you assign? Any help appreciated. Thank you

Negative for Lupus Like Inhibitor, Negative for lupus inhibitor; Factor deficiency not excluded Interfering substances present Abnormal
Comment: Lupus inhibitor testing revealed prolongation of the dRVVT screening test(s), but in the setting of a positive anticoagulant screen. The SCT testing arm is negative. Reflexive anticoagulant screening suggests anticoagulant contamination (anti-Xa activity present, prolonged INR, normal thrombin time).

FINAL INTERPRETATION: Interfering substance present - possibly heparin, LMWH, or other anti-Xa inhibitor. Repeat testing when free of anticoagulant medications is recommended for definitive lupus inhibitor testing.

hello annettebec, please tell me you are not a coder that assigns a diagnosis code based on CPT and this was just one of those "one offs here".
In your situation, you immediately contact your medical director and tell them the issue here. Especially from an outside resource.
If internal they are probably asking you to look in EHR to find a solid path to diagnosis here.
If outside, your medical director is going to quickly bring coding into perspective that you can code from here.
I am all about protecting myself as a pathology coder here, what the heck do we have in that pathology report to support diagnosis assignment?
