The urologist performs a circumcision on an adult for phimosis.
Apenile block is performed. Blade was used to incise the skin circumferentially. Scissors were used to incise a dorsal slit across the strip of the foreskin to be excised. Electrocautery is used to remove the foreskin.
Would this be 54001, 54150, or 54161? I think the dorsal slit part is what is throwing me off.

yes; my understanding is a "dorsal slit" 54001 would be performed first, then a month later a circ procedure 54161. Since a clamp was not used, I believe 54161 is the most appropriate.

Now you have me overthinking ;) ?????

Sorry. I tend to do that! :p I read that about the dorsal slit being done a month before the circumcision, but it confused me since this surgeon says he did it at the same time. That had me looking at 54150. What is an example of 54150? I am fairly new to urology coding. Most of my experience has been with general and colorectal surgery. So I am just trying to sort all of this out.
