Patient infused with 500ml NS for 30 minutes then started another 500ml NS for 25 minutes on same date of service.
Am I able to charge for hydration?
14:30 – 15:00 = 30 min
15:17 – 15:41 = 25 min

E86.0 DEHYDRATION FOR THE INFUSION.
I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT THE TIMES WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ADDED TOGETHER TO SUPPORT 31 MIN OR MORE FOR AN INFUSION?

Oh that is a tricky spot isn't it?! There's got to be a way to bill this with some kind of modifier because I'm sure it was supposed to be a continuous infusion. What else was going on during that 17 minute interval?
