I understand billing the 73520 for bilateral hip x-rays when an AP pelvis is taken in addition to a lateral view of each hip. But, what about when the physician orders an AP pelvis as well as an AP and lateral of a single hip? 72170 and 73510, or the 73520-52?
If the physician orders an AP pelvis and a lateral of a single hip, would this be coded as just an AP and lateral hip - 73510, or would we use 72170 and 73500?
