I am having a hard time finding a good dx code for intramuscular chronic hematoma from previous trauma. Can anyone help with their suggestions?

958.2 is a code for a hemorrhage due to trauma. There is no code that specifies a hematoma due to injury. If the injury itself is past and the documentation supports that this hematoma is due the earlier injury, then you could code the non-traumatic hematoma and add the 905-907 code for the late effect of the injury. Without the note it is really hard to say.

it was from a previous injury in the past, and it is on the gluteal area, so I was thinking I could use 922.32. What's your opinion on this?

922.32 is a current injury which you stated this is not. If the hematoma is a result of an injury that is current then the result is a late effect of the previous injury. The hematoma is not the injury itself. Or is this a contusion that never resolved.
