Can anyone tell me what diagnosis would be correct for this statement listed as diagnosis by ER physician and would this be a necessary diagnosis to code?

Diagnosis documented by physician: adrenal cortical steroids causing adverse effect in therapeutic use.

Hello, Per the ICD-9 Guidelines you would first code the reaction followed by the appropriate E-code which in this case would be E932.0. Hope that helps!
