Procedure: Exploratory laparotomy, perivesical and periureteral suturing of bleeding, cystoscopy with placement of bilateral 5-french ureteral catheters.

Dx: Urinary incontinence, vaginal prolapse, postoperative pelvic bleeding, s/p anterior-posterior repair and suburethral sling as well as hysterectomy vaginally with gynecology.

Urologist (my doc) was called in emergently to er, to perform the above procedure. The gynecologist assisted. This happened the day after the gynecologist performed the anterior-posterior repair and suburethral sling as well as vaginal hysterectomy. The gynecologist had the pt in the er already prepped and draped. Midline upper to left periumbilical incision was already made. The urologist is stating that he found the bleeding to be at the perivesical and periureteral junction.

Never had one like this before, think i may be reading too much into it. Also, does anyone know if we could also charge the 99060-cpt used to document service when physician has to interrupt his regular schedule to provide service outside of office in addition to the main procedure. Also, has anyone used this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated:).

Thank you
