Wiki Help on Modifier in Incision and Drainage

Hi.


Dx: Buttock Cellulitis
Px: Needle puncture to center of area, returned blood, no pus.

I'm thinking of coding 10060 for this procedure. However, I'm not sure if I should use any modifiers because there was no pus drained. Can anyone please help me? Thanks.

If the procedure is completed as designed then you the procedure as completed with no modifier. It is not incomplete just because the provider did not get the desired result.
