Does anyone have experience coding/billing for Psychologists that see parents of newborns in the NICU? Do you use Health & Behavior Assessment/Intervention codes? What about ICD-10 codes? P96.9 has been suggested = Condition originating in the perinatal period, unspecified as well as Z17.89, Other specified counseling. I know that we will most likely gets denials and then appeal with notes. Just seems like there are so many reasons for insurance to deny. I want to try to limit those reasons (don't we all!!).
