Can CPT code 77336 be charged daily for High Dose Radiation Brachytherapy Planning, where daily planning is needed? I am getting mixed statements on this as I am being told that 77336 has to be reported weekly. But in the case of Brachytherapy, Radiation Therapy is not usually done in 5 weekly fractions.

CPT 77336 Continuing medical physics consultation does not describe planning services for brachytherapy. There are clinical circumstances when HDR brachytherapy could be planned every treatment session. There are also clinical circumstances where there is an initial brachyhtherapy plan, with subsequent HDR treatments only requiring per day or per-session re-calculation for changes in HDR source activity only (not a new isodose plan). Brachytherapy isodose planning codes are CPT 77326-77328. In some cases, CPT 77295 3-D simulation may be appropriate for medically necessary 3D planning for brachytherapy. The coding can be tricky, as there are many ways HDR brachytherapy is planned and delivered.
