Good afternoon,

What differentiates minor vs major, harvest site, amount, or type of graft?

You kind of need to get a feel for this.

Code 20900 suggests the size small dowel or button which is not very much.

Code 20902 is more than that.

In foot & ankle I usually use 20902 since most of the time that its performed an arthrodesis of a joint is being done. That would be much more than a small dowel or button.

Look at what it's being used for and I think you will get a feel for which code is best.

I think sometimes when the answer seems so easy, I second guess myself. For some reason I feel like I always need to dig deep for the answer.
