I really have a hard time with coding FESS procedures. I currently have this procedure: Functional Endoscopic Sinus surgery, right with maxillary,ethmoid, and sphenoidotomies as well as I&D of dorsal nasal abscess.
Dx: Right pan facial sinusitis with associated preseptal cellulitis
Can anyone help me with this and maybe some easy way of looking at these.
 
Your FESS codes start at 31231.....so the codes for Ethmoid w/ tissue removal is 31254 for partial or 31255 for total.....Max w/ tissue removal is 31267, and sphenoid w/ tissue removal is 31288. The dorsal nasal abscess I&D code I found was 30020. I hope this helps you.
