Looking for some help coding eye trauma coding.
Without posting a surgery report, am I correct to say that when coding a surgery on the extraocular muscles due to trauma (MVA) the repair of disconnected muscles can not be reported with the Strabismus surgery code set. ??

This is a complicated eye blow out injury with extensive reconnective repair that has been done to two vertical muscles, one being the superior oblique, but I don't feel right reporting 67314, 67318, and +67340 for traumatic injury to these muscles.

CPT 65290 with modifier 22 doesn't seem to represent the work involved in this case. AND if reported, can this code be reported for each muscle repaired?

THANKS for any help!!!

I think we should end up with 67316, 67318 and 67399 as no ther option left or we can take 65290 with 22
