Help, if I am coding an excision of a soft tissue tumor and the surgeon documents the tumor size was 6x3 cm on the upper arm. Do I code to the 6cm or the 3cm? If I code to the 6 then I would use 24073 for 5cm or larger. If I code to the 3 then I would use the 24076 for the less than 5cm. There is almost a $200 reimbursement different between the two.
