Can you bill a 99219 and 99285 for same day. 99219 got paid but 99285 says it needs a modifier. Can someone help?

According to CCI, it is not appropriate to use a modifier on 99285. This is the response from AAPC Coder's CCI Edits when I ran the code combination:

Thank you I appreciate that. Is there anyway to get this claim paid. Since the 99219 got paid I guess that's all we can do?

I would submit the 99285 for adjustment based on the CCI edit and move on. But I'm also a physician-based coder. A facility-based coder may have different advice so I'm hoping someone else will chime in too.
