if a patient comes in 8 months after the fact of a car accident for back pain, but is seen in your office for the first time for this (back pain). Do you still add a E code for this after the back pain.
Where I'm trying to get is that I've been told that E codes pertaining to accidents are only used when the accident happen during that day prior to the visit. And doesn't need to be used if the accident happen months or days before they came in for there injury.
