I have a patient that received a 2nd degree burn on the palm and one finger of the hand. I need an E-code for the burn from Avon lotion. I was told to use 946.9, the only problem that I have with that is the code states unspecified and it was in fact specified in the notes that it was Avon lotion that burned the patient.:):)

honestly I would use the E924.0 accident caused by hot liquids and vapors, including steam. Unless the avon lotion wasn't actually hot.. Otherwise lotion is an emollient... so you could go with E946.3
