Hello,,

With the introduction of new CPT codes for the insertion and removal of drug delivery devices (20700-20705), has CPT code 11981 (insertion of non-biodegradable drug delivery implant) been deleted?

Thank you

No, it's still a good code. Per AAPC coder, 11981 is for subcutaneous implants. CPT directs to 20700-20704 for deep implants (subfascial, intramedullary, or intra-articular)

Was told yesterday during online webinar that all of the CPT codes to be billed with these new ones are not listed in the CPT books. There was an error at time of printing and a list would be sent out.
