Patient presents to ER six months pregnant after an assault by her husband 2 days prior. She was punched in the stomach and somehow hurt her ankle during the alleged assault.
Her final diagnosis is abdominal pain and ankle sprain.

Is it correct to use 665.83 - other specified obstetrical trauma, or should I be using codes from 995.81-995.85 - adult physical abuse codes?

Or do I just code 789.00, 845.00, V22.2 with the appropriate E-code for abuse by spouse?

This is not obstetrical trauma, nor is the pregnancy incidental, you will need a 648 code first listed and the trauma code secondary with the E code for abuse.
