For CPT 72010, is it suffecient for the provider to document "AP & lateral x-rays of full length of entire spine were reviewed" since the description in the CPT book states, "Radiologic examination, spine, entire, survey study, AP & lateral"?
Or-do the notes need to specify "AP views with the patient supine, knees flexed, and feet flat on the table; and lateral views recumbent or erect" in order to justify using 72010? (long description CDR)
Is there anywhere that I can get supporting documentation stating that the long description is required for this code so that I can take it to the provider?
