We have a new sports med doctor who is wanting to use our in office ultrasound machine for diagnostic purposes on an achilles. I'm wondering a couple things.
1.) Can this be billed at all?
2.) Would I use the 76999 CPT code?

Thanks for any help on this!

Ultrasound of Achilles

CPT 76882 would be appropriate in my opinion. CPT states that 76882 is used for an examination of an extremity that would be performed primarily for evaluation of muscles, tendons, joints and/or soft tissues. Note that you do have to have image documentation.
