Hello Everyone,
I am reaching out needing some help. We are getting denials from Medicare for 77080 b/c we are billing V82.81 b/c they are ordering as routine/preventative. Someone suggested V0.71 however that is not on the LCD. Does anyone have suggestions?

Thank you.

Just a question, but why would you be billing Medicare for 77080 when the G-Code should be applied to a Medicare patient? The code is G0130 for Dexa Scan performed on Medicare patient. Also, you can look up the medical necessity diagnosis codes on the cms.gov website and search Dexa Scan LCD/NCD.

Hope this helps

Is there not a preventative/routine dx that can be used. I have searched ICD and cannot find anything. Any assitance would be appreciated. Thank you.
