On depression screening...Is G0444 just for medicare? When coding depression for commercial can you not use G0444?
 
Yes, the G0444 if for Medicare only. Commercials payors typically consider the depression screening to be bundled with a preventive visit.

For non-Medicare patients you can use CPT 96160. It doesn't have to be done with a preventive visit. We use it when a patient comes in to be seen for undiagnosed depression or anxiety.

I'm trying to identify if there are commercial payors that allow the depression screen to be billed separately, not bundled with preventive service. What is the best way to find out this information?
