I'm working a denial, claim was billed with 99233, 00300 its denying CPT code 99233 because its hitting up against the Anesthesia charge. Could someone please advise
Thanks

Hi,

Usually the E/M visit with the patient the same day as anesthesia services performed, are included with the Pre-Eval & Post-Eval for Anesthesia. Did your doctor see the patient for another reason on the same day?

Hi,
if cpt 99233 and cpt 00300 both done by one provider then you need to have seperate evaluation and management. even if you have a seperate condition addressed cpt 99233 & 00300 cannot be billed together even by adding any modifier , this means only one cpt will get pay.
if both done by different providers from different specialty then go head and do an appeal to the insurance.
hope this helps.
