I am looking for some information regarding real-time ECG Monitoring in a facility, done on an OP or IP. Does anyone bill this service at their facility or do you include it in the bed/room charge? If you did bill it and used CPT 93012, what are you using now that it has been deleted? We are receving conflicting information from our payors regarding billing it vs. not and also what CPT is applicable. Basically, we have an area in our facility with monitoring screens that display the ECG readings and they are monitored by staff 24 hrs per day. CPT 2011 directs you to 93268-93272 which suggest "external patient". These patients are located in the facility. Can anyone help?
