We are having difficulites getting a 71020 or 71010 paid when billed with an E/M and Thoracentesis 32554-32556. We use a modifer 25 on E/M codes. We have billed the CXR with and without modifer 59 and we are getting denials from Medicare stating they are missing a qualifying service and bundled service. Has anyone been successful getting these reimbursed, and how did you do it? Thank you for your help!
