The hospital where I work recently acquired a physician's practice, and we are now sending out and billing for pap smears. For the LabCorp test we are using, the appropriate CPT/HCPCS codes would be 88175/G0145. My question is which code do we use? The CPT or HCPCS code? Are there different situations that would warrant use of one over the other (such as with Medicare patients)? Any help would be appreciated!
