This is for anyone who has taken the COSC exam to answer, please.
So, when I get surgeries that the Dr. performs an arthroplasty for a fracture. The way we code these is, if it is a fracture even though the Dr. states arthroplasty we code as a fracture repair.
Ex: Left radial head fracture
Procedure: Left radial head arthroplasty with implant.
I would code this as: 24666-Lt since this is truly a fracture.
I leave the arthroplaties for degenerative problems.
So, do you know if this is how AAPC looks at it for the COSC exam? I tried calling them, but they suggested I try the forum for this.
Thanks,
