Hi Folks,

I've seen on here questions for the conversion from nephroureterostomy to nephrostomy, but what about the other way around? How would you code a conversion of a nephrostomy to a nephroureterostomy? I thought maybe code the removal of the nephrostomy (50389), and then code for the nephroureterostomy (50393/74480)?

I'm assuming that this is being done percutaneously. I would just bill 50393/74480 because you are going thru the same access site.
