Our practice has always collected at time of visit for contact lens fittings and have not used codes specific to the fittings. With insurance carriers begining to expand their services to include contacts and eye glasses, we will be changing our coding practices for these types of services. Can anyone advise how your office codes for fitting of contact lenses? Do you have patient sign anything should carrier deny charges?
Thanks

Look at the 92310 and 92314 codes. We do not participate in vision plans, so we always collect and give an itemized receipt. Patients are informed prior to their scheduled cl fitting. Hope that helps.
