Is there a CPT for surgical peeling of pseudomembrane for Adenovirus?

Since it is a surgical procedure on the conj, the code that I found through researching is 68399. A copy of the op report needs to be included with the claim (even electronically) in order for the payer to approve an amount for reimbursement.

I disagree on using the 68399 surgical code. The description I found for this code involves in incision into the conjunctiva. The pseudomembrane removal is usually done either with a sterile cotton swab or forceps and doesn't involve an incision at all.

I would still use an E/M code, probably level 3 99xxx or the 920x2 codes.
