I am needing help with finding an appropriate code for a patient who has been diagnosed with Pycnodysostosis. It is a very rare disorder and we are having trouble finding a code that works.

My ICD-9-CM reference has no listings for Pycnodysostosis, osteochondrodysplasia, or genetic lysosomal disorder. Code 756.4 congenital chondrodystrophy may be appropriate. Another option is 758.89 as online literature indicates that this is a chromosomal disorder. Perhaps a query to the physician could help narrow the selection?

Not really an answer but I hope it helps. Cindy
