new to billing ED, Do you put a 25 modifier on EKG when done in the ED? The Doctors I work for do them for patients with chest pains, ect. not sure how to bill

Are the ED doctors actually performing and doing the interpretation and report for the EKGs?
Modifier 25 would only be appended to an E/M code.

Yes, our doctors are actually performing and doing the interpretation and report
so the 25 modifier need to be added to em for these charges.

Correct, modifier 25 would be added to the E&M to show that a separate service was done (the EKG) from just the E&M alone...
