Consent was obtained. Procedure/risks were explained. Questions were answered. Correct patient identified. Correct side and site confirmed.
Indication:
Abnormal Papanicolaou smear of cervix, unsatisfactory cervical cytology smear.
Procedure:
A biv alve speculum was placed in the vagina. Under colposcopic examination, the transition zone was seen in entirety. The endocervix was curetted using a Kervorkian curette. Performed 2:00, 5:00 specimen was sent to pathology. Monsel's solution was applied.
