Hi, one of my surgeons did a left elbow closed reduction percutaneous pinning. I believe this would be coded as unlisted. Does anyone have a good comparison code?
Under fluoroscopic guidance and avoiding compromised skin two 2.4 mm k-wires were inserted retrograde through the posterior cortex of the proximal ulna across the joint into the distal humerus with the elbow held reduced and in approximately 90 degrees of flexion. These were bicortical pins that were inserted in a crossed fashion. Satisfied with the reduction and pin placement, the pins were bend and cut outside the skin.
