I billed code 99214 U1, 25 with code 90834 U4, 59 T1001 U4 and was first reimbursed but then later on denied for the 99214 E/M code. The denial states "This code combination indicates an NCCI edit; a modifier is not allowed to override this edit." What would be the correct order to bill these services that were done on the same day but by different healthcare professionals?

It is correct that 99214 and 90384 have an NCCI edit, and a modifier cannot override the edit. You will not be paid for both services on the same claim.

What type of provider performed each service?

The 99214 was done by the psychiatrist from 3pm to 3:30pm, 90834 was done by an LAPC from 2:15pm to 3:00pm, and the T1001 was done by an RN from 4:30pm to 4:44pm
