Hello, can you code more than 1 diabetic code. I have a patient (DMT2; WIth Ac of 12.8%, glucose of 309. Also with peripheral neuropathy). the provider is coding e11.65 and ee11.21. thank you in advance.th

a. Diabetes mellitusThe diabetes mellitus codes are combination codes that include the typeof diabetes mellitus, the body system affected, and the complicationsaffecting that body system. As many codes within a particular category as are necessary to describe all of the complications of the disease maybe used. They should be sequenced based on the reason for a particularencounter. Assign as many codes from categories E08 – E13 as neededto identify all of the associated conditions that the patient has.
