Can anyone explain what does a "child code" mean in this situation?



Code 86328 was established as a child code to 86318 to report a qualitative or semiquantitative single-step method immunoassay for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) antibody(ies).
 
I believe they are referring to the fact that in CPT code 86328 is indented underneath 86318.

86318 is the 'parent' or stand-alone code and 86328 refers back to the common portion of the parent code for the full code description but contains an additional description (after the semi-colon) for additional specificity.
