Hi everyone. I am new to coding and have a question. If a patient presents at hospital with spontaneous labor. She is a 35 y/o at 36 weeks. This is her second pregnancy and has had a prior c-section. She goes straight to OR to have a repeat lower-segment transverse c-section. Do I code this as a regular c-section (59514)? I have been going over and over the Maternity Care & Delivery section in the CPT manual. I know there is a section for Delivery After Previous Cesarean Deliver, but none of these codes seem to be correct. They all seem to be for attempted vaginal delivery. Am I missing something?

Yes, this would be a regular c-section. If she wanted to try to have a vaginal delivery, you would use one of the other codes.
