I am new to cardiology specialty and am hoping someone that has an expertise in this area can clarify. My MD's have been billing a 93268,52 when the pt calls in remotely and gets an interpretation/analysis of the 24 hour event monitoring recorded episodes. MDs were not present 24 hours so they were advised (misadvised ) to add the modifier 52 for reduced services, which of course gets denied by most payors with that modifier. I think it should be the 93272, but am uncertain and am hoping for some further clarification since I am new to this specialty.

Here is the MD doc: Start Date: 02/03/2015
End Date: 02/19/2015

INDICATION:
An event monitor study was performed
to evaluate the patient for palpitations.

FINDINGS:
The underlying rhythm is sinus. The patient appears to have normal PR, QRS interval. The patient has two episodes of transmission that appear to be sinus associated with PVCs. Her other transmission events are all sinus rhythm.

IMPRESSION:
1. Underlying sinus mechanism.
2. Occasional symptomatic events associated with sinus rhythm.
3. Occasional symptomatic events associated with sinus rhythm with PVCs.

Thank you!
