Our physician performs cardiac lead extraction with mechanical thrombectomy to remove vegetation/thrombus. I am unable to find any specific direction on billing for thrombectomy with cardiac lead extraction. Can we bill both the cardiac lead extraction (i.e., CPT 33235 or 33244) and mechanical thrombectomy, vein (37187) codes to describe this procedure?
