We had a patient come into our office today. Our office is attached to a hospital but we are a doctors office. Today a patient came into the office and the physician did a complete exam on the patient. It was determined that he should really been seen in the Emergency Room so after the visit the patient was taken to the ER. The doctor marked a 99213 on the encounter with 789.00 as the DX. Since the patient ended up getting set to and seen at the ER, can our doctor still charge her 99213?
