Wiki Can 27640 be billed in this situation?

Doc was working on the posterior tibialis tendon and decided the groove it was sitting in was not deep enough. So he dug out the bone for it and has put down code 27640 for that.

However, there was no osteomyelitis or any other pathology, just a shallow groove.

I am reluctant to bill 27640 in this situation.

Any thoughts?
