Hello family, I need your help and please advise me if I am wrong.

Can you bill 33511 and 33533 together?

If you can, please provider example or reference where I can have for notes.

If no, I didn't think we could code a CABG like this. If we could code this way, what would be the purpose of the 33517-33523 add-on codes?

I am auditing myself and this question came up.

Thanks Family,

Hi there I just had to add to this info so if the patient grafts lets say the LAD with the internal mammary and he grafts the ramus and rca with a venous graft what would be the appropriate code set to use. I thought it was
33533
33518

Coding CABG

I agree with ER CPC.
You can NOT code 33511 & 33533 together.
When coding a CABG: check what is done
1- Arterial Graft (33533-33536)
2- Combined Arterial & Venous Graft (33533-33536 and 33517-33523)
use one from each code group

3- Venous Graft ONLY(33510-33516) using veins ONLY, no Arterial Graft

Sometimes looking at the book is a little confusing. Hopefully this breakdown helps.
