Pt comes into clinic to have hearing aid fixed-battery dead or aid not working, any problem with the aid itself. What diagnosis are you using? The hearing loss or other as I cannot find a diagnosis for a complication/malfunction of a hearing aid. Z46.1 hearing aid fitting/adjustment states that it does not include a malfunctioning aid.

Still bill with hearing loss code

You would still bill with hearing loss code. There is no diagnosis for hearing aid repair, but you will need to still justify the medical necessity of the hearing aid which is hearing loss (H90XXX). Make sure you check code V5014 and modifier RB is used as that is the most recognized code for hearing aid repair by commercial and government payers.
