Hello,

I'm trying to find codes for alcohol and substance abuse interventions, health and behavior assessments, and tobacco related counseling, but not sure whether they will be covered by LICSW, LPCC, and Masters of social work (intern).
some of the codes I've found are 99406-99407 (Tobacco related counseling), 99408-99409 (alcohol & substance abuse), 96150-96151 and 99420 (health & behavioral assessments), and 96152 (behavioral intervention/counseling).

I'd appreciate any advice.

I work in a clinic that provides Behavioral Health and A&D services and this how we bill
99406-99407 can only be billed by a Physician, Physician Assistant or ARNP, or an LCSW under "incident to"

For our A&D encoutners:
H0004- Behavioral Health Counseling, 15 min (if Medicaid pt, use an HF mod)
H0001- A&D Assessment
H0002- Behavioral Health Screening
H0005- A&D Group Counseling
H0006- Crisis Intervention
H0048- A&D UA (use mod H9 or HQ if applicable to patient)
